About Us
Derek Goodlin, founder of Custom Shock Bushings, resides in Arkansas. He holds an engineering degree from Penn State and an MBA from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA. As owner and design engineer for the company, Derek is personally invested in every product they engineer.
While he’s away from the shop, Derek enjoys going on adventures with his wife and their eight children. Work has never been too far from home for Derek, as sole proprietor of the business. Yet, being so close to home means his kids can often be found at their father’s side, even while working. Allowing his kids to learn, and even participate, in the family business, is something Derek considers a luxury when so many people today aren’t able to. Derek and his family are all active participants in their community, civic duties, and church life.

At his core, Derek enjoys helping people solve problems. Known by his childhood friends as ‘MacGyver’ for his ability to examine, assess, and repair things; Derek brings this sense of curiosity and dedication to every unique order that comes in. He truly believes in the adage,
“Enjoy your children, they grow up so fast.”
